DetailsThe Flaughter spade is used to remove the top layer of peat which is richer, more rooty and produces more ‘reek’. This gives a heavier, smokier flavor to the whisky. Pale gold in color, it has a smoky, ashy nose with undertones of fresh vanilla and sticky toffee. Peaty and intense but remarkably rounded, it flickers with hints of fragrant pipe tobacco, orchard fruits, brown sugar sweetness and a slight medicinal overtone. An intensely flavorsome, smoky and smooth finish.
