Viña Real has now it's own separate winery, but it's still the CVNE brand from Rioja Alavesa. The 2011 Viña Real Crianza, mostly Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano fermented in stainless steel, matured in barrel for a little more than one year before bottling. The wine is racked every 5-6 months. It has a very ripe nose with hints of raisins, plenty of plums and black cherries, a little decadent and baroque. The palate is ripe and tasty with balsamic, Mediterranean flavors that are round, lush and approachable. 900,000 bottles produced.
